July’s debt reduction progress was fairly good.
Parent PLUS debt down: $1,938.12
Mortgage lowered: $817.25
Overall debt reduction: $2,755.37
I was off from my full-time job July 1-4 and could have picked up a ton of hours from my retail job, including time and a half for the holiday. However, I took a week off to go to Electric Forest instead of working. The other thing that hurt my budget was that my son was home and not working, so all of his expenses came from me – and there were a lot of them.
On the positive side, I had a
boyfriend who dumped me last week “roommate” for the month. He paid me rent, which I promptly threw at Parent PLUS loan #1, and now that loan is nicely situated in the $12k’s.
August will be somewhat back to normal with my “roommate” being gone and my son gone and working.
You guys are going to have to live without a great post I wrote about my “roommate” and how wonderful he was and how much I loved and appreciated him because he moved out. I wrote a draft Monday and he left Thursday. Sorry about your luck. And mine.
Been a rough couple of years.
